Meet and learn with Gabi from Uruguay
What I can offer and what I am looking for:
- Workshop “the thinking hand – the concept of work to Freinet” “La mano piensa- el concepto de trabajo para Freinet”
The combination of manual work with the intellectual work. Experiences in free work.
- Workshop “the thinking hand- invariants” “La mano piensa- invariantes pedagógicas”
Through a workshop that begins with the hands in the clay we will reflect on the concept of “transform our practises, possibilities/difficulties”
- Discussion / exchange about “The Free work / the alienated work” “El trabajo libre/ El trabajo enajenado”
What are the extent to which children have experiences of free work in school within a capitalist system? Is it possible to achieve emancipation? Research about this topic? - Discussion / exchange about Research
Freinet pedagogy was built with a great exchange between teachers, but it was the result of 40 years of Freinet making researches in his own practise. What place occupy the investigation in this Freinet pedagogy, now -in the current movements-? Do the freinet teachers make investigations to share with the others colleagues? How could we overcome and write the Freinet pedagogy of this century if we dont put in common this things? - Discussion / exchange about internet and its consequences? What place does the technology have in your class?
We have said that if Freinet were living today, he would use the laptops, and all the possibilities of internet to make projects about communication, We use it at the school and our correspondence is very cool and fast (through the classic post, through email, videoconferences, and whatsapp!!) We let internet enter our class room, and it is very practical. But… what happens when the technology is above us and not under us? When the screen is taking away all the free time of the kids at home? When people want to know and not to learn? We have to consider it everyday because the internet is going to eat us if we don’t teach how to use it in a critic or in a conscious way, the technology at the service of humans.
Other topics of interest:
- show my experience in a public School (Montevideo-Uruguay)
- The research we have done along this last 3 years: In the footsteps of Freinet in Uruguay. Tras las huellas de Freinet en Uruguay.
I would love to visit classes (my pupils are 11-13 years old) and have a meeting after the class to exchange with the teacher
I would like to exchange about the way to combine the official curriculum and the Freinet classes. I would like to know your kids’ workplan. Along my visits to another classes in other countries i have seen different concepts about the work plan (of the children). I would like to exchange how do you work in the workplan of the kids.
Je kan in het Engels of Spaans contact met Gabi opnemen om haar uit te nodigen in je klas, om iets af te spreken, …?
